Huawei oficiálně vyvrátil svůj plán představit v nadcházejících měsících smartphone s Harmony OS. Vincent Pang ze společnosti Huawei promluvil na mediální události v New Yorku a potvrdil, že společnost letos nemá žádné plány uvést smartphone napájený Harmony OS.Pang nicméně potvrdil, že společnost letos uvede jiné produkty s OS, jako televizi a hodinky, přičemž oba dorazí na trh před koncem tohoto roku. Vincent Pang prohlásil, že společnost chce "udržovat jeden standard, jeden ekosystém," takže nepřichází v úvahu, že by smartphony měla na více platformách. Harmony bude sloužit jako záložní varianta v případě, že se situace mezi Spojenými státy a Čínou zhorší a společnost dostane zákaz obchodu s americkými partnery. V současnosti Huawei prochází svým druhým devadesát dnů trvajícím prodloužením, dokud nedojde k vyřešení probíhající obchodní války mezi oběma státy.
