Huawei plánuje představit svůj nový smartphone P40 na veřejné události, která proběhne příští březen.Během interview zástupce společnosti Richard Yu potvrdil, že Huawei P40 (a možná i P40 Pro) se poprvé představí na tiskové konferenci pořádané v Paříži. Yu rovněž potvrdil dosavadní zvěsti, že smartphone P40 bude mít Android 10 a EMUI, nikoliv HarmonyOS systém vyvíjený v rámci společnosti. Datum uvedení smartphonu upřímně není příliš překvapivé, uvážíme-li, že smartphony Huawei P30 a P30 Pro byly formálně představeny 26. března 2019, a smartphony P20 a P20 Pro ve stejnou roční dobu, 27. března 2018. A ačkoliv Yu nezmínil konkrétní datum, vzhledem k tomu, že se poslední dvě veřejné události společnosti Huawei konaly v úterky, ta další by mohla nastat 24. března 2020. Yu také sdělil, že Huawei P40 bude mít „nikdy předtím neviděný“ design, a navíc i vylepšenou kvalitu fotografií – což odpovídá předchozím zvěstem o 64-megapixelovém systému čtyř snímačů. Huawei P40 rovněž nabídne lepší výkonnost než smartphony roku 2019 a vylepšenou umělou inteligenci. V poslední době rovněž zazněly zprávy, že smartphone bude vybaven displejem Horizon – zbrusu novým displejem podobným těm, který Samsung používá na své nejdražší smartphony série Galaxy.
