Čínský gigant Huawei přišel nejen o plnohodnotný Android. Následně přišel také o svoje procesory Kirin, které využívají americké technologie. A nyní příchozí další úder v podobě zákazu používat špičkové fotočipy od Sony. Zákaz používat do svých smartphonů fotočipy od Sony je pro Huawei tvrdá rána. Společnost Sony totiž patří v oblasti fotočipů mezi světové špičky. Díky fotočipům se společnost Huawei mohla pyšnit titulem „nejlepší výrobce fotomobilů“. Za fotočipy značky Sony bude obtížně hledat náhradu a přijde tak o svou největší přednost. Sony je sice japonská firma, nemálo však operuje na americkém trhu. Jelikož ho nechtěla ztratit, vyhověla Američanům. Jelikož je Huawei jejím největším klientem, je možné, že požádá o výjimku na povolení obchodu s Huawei. Jinak by totiž přišla o zhruba 470 milionu amerických dolarů. Tuto ztrátu bude obtížné kompenzovat, přestože Sony sjednala s Apple dohodu o dodání součástek pro nové LIDAR senzory Time-of-Flight. Uvidíme, jak to nakonec dopadne. V každém případě se Huawei nemůže spoléhat na to, že si Sony požádá výjimku na povolení obchodu s tímto čínským gigantem a dostane ji. Svědčí o tom skutečnost, že čínský výrobce v roce 2021 plánuje vyrobit pouze 30 % z celkového počtu smartphonů, které vyrobil tento rok.
