| The upheavals that are happening in Europe have actually happened in Indonesia, of course on a smaller scale. In Indonesia in 2011 there was a breakaway league labeled the Indonesian Premier League. The competition was born as a form of resistance to Nurdin Halid who led the PSSI. PSSI rezin Nurdin is considered to be full of KKN which destroyed Indonesian football. LPI was initiated by a wealthy businessman Arifin Panigoto. LPI is organized by the PT Liga Primer Indonesia Consortium which is not affiliated with PSSI. The PSSI Extraordinary Congress officially appointed Djohar Arifin as Chairman of the new PSSI replacing Nurdin Halid, who was no longer allowed by FIFA to lead the highest national football organization. The LPI started rolling out on January 8, 2011 and finished in May 2011 after completing the first round of competition. Because it was officially recognized then the LPI changed its form to the Indonesia Premier League (IPL) which then rotated the 2012 season competition. The problem does not stop there because the majority of ISL clubs rebellion, refusing to play in IPL. They continued to play the ISL competition which turned into a breakaway league status . |
